The Krewe of Harambee is preparing to officially launch the 2026-27 Mardi Gras season with its annual coronation, an evening dedicated to celebrating tradition, community service, and the unveiling of a new royal court.
Coronation Details
The coronation will take place Saturday at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino. During the event, the krewe will introduce its incoming royalty and celebrate the accomplishments of the outgoing court.
According to Krewe of Harambee Captain Judy Madison, the event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to take part in the festivities and get involved early in the Mardi Gras season.
Royalty Chairman Nick Echols said the event marks the culmination of months of preparation for the new court. Founded nearly three decades ago, the Krewe of Harambee is known not only for its Mardi Gras celebrations but also for its commitment to community outreach and supporting local organizations throughout the year.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the coronation program beginning at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase.
