Knicks Win NBA Championship

The New York Knicks have won their first NBA championship in 53 years, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Jalen Brunson scored 45 points, including 13 straight in the fourth quarter, to lead the Knicks to victory.

Championship Win

Brunson, the NBA Finals MVP, said he was in awe of the team’s achievement. The Knicks won the series 4-1, rallying from double-digit deficits in all four of their victories. The team’s coach, Mike Brown, said it was surreal to have won the championship.

The Knicks improved to 4-0 in closeout opportunities this season, winning all of them on the road. The team’s fans celebrated in the streets of New York, with fireworks and high-fives with firefighters. The championship parade will be held on Thursday.
