Knicks’ Game 3 NBA Finals Seats Auctioned for Record $1 Million

The New York Knicks have announced a record-breaking auction result, with two courtside seats for Game 3 of the NBA Finals fetching $1 million. This marks the first NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden since 1999, and the auction proceeds will benefit the Garden of Dreams Foundation, which supports children in need across the tristate area.

Historic Donation

The winning bid was a joint effort by the law firm Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher LLP and the private equity firm Veritas Capital. This contribution is the largest single donation in the history of the Garden of Dreams Foundation, reflecting the high demand and prestige associated with attending the finals at this iconic venue.

The seats, located in section VIP 10, row AA, seats 25 and 26, are typically reserved for celebrity fans and are not available for public sale. Notable figures such as Tracy Morgan and Timothée Chalamet are often seen in these coveted spots.

High Demand for Finals Tickets

With the Knicks making a historic return to the finals, ticket prices have soared. The cheapest seats in the upper deck were reportedly selling for over $6,000 on secondary markets like StubHub, SeatGeek, and VividSeats, while courtside experiences were valued at over $75,000. This highlights the significant interest and excitement surrounding the Knicks’ performance in the finals.

The Garden of Dreams Foundation, benefiting from this auction, collaborates with Madison Square Garden’s companies to provide resources and opportunities for children facing challenges in the tristate area. The foundation’s work is crucial in supporting the community, aligning with values of family and community support.
