The Kimberly Papermakers girls soccer team saw their season come to an end on Thursday, losing 3-0 to Divine Savior Holy Angels in the WIAA Division 1 semifinals.
DSHA controlled the ball well, limiting Kimberly’s opportunities and holding them to just 1 shot in the first half and 5 shots for the game.
Sarah Mcelherne scored in the 21st minute, and Reese Roethe added another goal in the 31st minute to give DSHA a 2-0 lead at halftime. Izzy Burris scored in the 50th minute to make it 3-0.
Bree Brockert had 4 saves for Kimberly, while Caitlin Caprez had 2 saves and Madeline Watson had 1 for DSHA.
WIAA Division 1 Semifinals Results
#1 Divine Savior Holy Angels (18-2-2) defeated #4 Kimberly (22-2) 3-0, and #3 Muskego (14-2-3) defeated #2 Oregon (16-2-4) 2-1.
The championship game will be played on Saturday, June 20, with Divine Savior Holy Angels facing Muskego at 1:30 p.m.
