Marly Kinney, a 19-year-old woman from Ashland, Kentucky, was found dead in Grayson Lake. The investigation into her death is ongoing, according to Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officials.
Investigation Details
Kinney was reported missing on June 24 after she did not return with a group of friends who were aboard a rented pontoon at Grayson Lake. The boat’s operator, 22-year-old Cameron Conley, was arrested and charged with operating a boat under the influence.
A five-day search ensued, involving Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, Kentucky State Police, and local emergency agencies. Kinney’s body was recovered from the lake on June 28. The cause of her death has not been released, and the state’s medical examiner’s office is working to determine it.
Investigators are now working with the Carter County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to review evidence and pursue leads. They are asking anyone with information related to Kinney’s death to contact Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement.
