Kathy Griffin Claims Tonight Show Ban

Kathy Griffin claimed in an Instagram post that she had been banned from ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ for being ‘too controversial’. Griffin stated she had not appeared on the show since it aired at 12:30 Eastern and Pacific, implying a ban. However, a source with knowledge on the matter told Fox News Digital that there is no ban on Griffin.

Background

In 2017, Griffin drew bipartisan backlash after posting an image of herself holding a Halloween mask covered in ketchup that appeared to resemble the severed head of President Donald Trump. Griffin was investigated by the Secret Service over whether the image constituted a threat against the president.

Griffin expressed her dislike for the show having Conor McGregor on, stating it sends a message that women and marginalized folks are not equal. She also mentioned the show having Trump on in the past, which did not sit well with her.
