Renowned novelist Katherine Center, whose breezy “beach reads” consistently land on The New York Times bestseller list, will appear at Peters Township High School for the library’s annual Novel November event on Monday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.
Local event details
Center, a 54‑year‑old Texan who writes from a beach house on Galveston Island, will discuss her life and work before opening a book‑signing session. The library has promised that she will stay “until 2 in the morning” to meet readers.
VIP experience
A limited number of VIP tickets include a reception in the Peters Township Middle School cafeteria from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., a hardback copy of her latest novel The Shippers, and a pre‑event signing.
About the author
Since her debut novel The Bright Side of Disaster 20 years ago, Center has become a fixture on bestseller lists and has seen three of her books adapted for Netflix, including the upcoming romantic comedy Guarding Stars (premiering Nov. 18). Her stories often feature relatable characters, humor, and heartfelt romance, qualities praised by Peters Township Library Director Lacey Love.
Local literary support
The event is sponsored by the Peters Township Library Foundation. Riverstone Books, a Pittsburgh‑area independent bookseller, will carry Center’s titles before and after the program.
