Following her departure, Leavitt will transition into an outside advisory role for the administration and the Republican Party ahead of the midterm elections. Leavitt confirmed her departure in a statement posted to X on Wednesday, describing her tenure as “the honor and adventure of a lifetime” and thanking Trump for the opportunity to speak from the press secretary podium.

Leavitt noted that she will continue working with Trump and the party in an outside capacity. “President Trump has asked me to continue serving as a top advisor to him on the outside, and I will always remain a vocal advocate for MAGA and the Republican Party,” Leavitt stated.
