A juvenile was injured Sunday evening during a large gathering at Braswell Park, according to Tarboro Police. The juvenile had lacerations and was taken to ECU Health for treatment.
A woman who said her 16-year-old son was the one injured at Braswell Park said he is recovering from his injuries. She claims she saw a video showing 4 or 5 people there.
Police Warning
While police did not directly say that this was a ‘teen takeover,’ their news release about the incident encouraged parents and guardians to speak with their children about the dangers associated with attending or organizing these events. “These events can quickly escalate into violence, placing participants and bystanders at risk of serious injury and potential criminal charges,” said police in the release.
Investigators are asking anyone with pictures, video or information of the incident to contact them at (252) 641-4247. They said information can also be submitted anonymously.
