Jonesboro wrapped up its Juneteenth celebration in style, with a festive finale scheduled for Friday featuring a mayoral proclamation, a live jazz concert, and a fireworks display, according to Jonesboro Right Now.
Adding to the patriotic spirit, the Jonesboro University Heights Lions Club planned to display U.S. flags throughout the community in honor of Juneteenth, a meaningful gesture that brought color and pride to neighborhood streets.
The Juneteenth festivities were also part of a broader wave of America 250 celebrations taking shape across Northeast Arkansas. A flyover and a slow roll were scheduled in Jonesboro as part of those commemorations, giving residents even more reasons to gather, celebrate, and reflect on the nation’s history as the country approaches its 250th birthday.
Together, these events highlight the community spirit alive and well in Jonesboro — from civic organizations planting flags along city streets to neighbors coming together under open skies for music, light, and shared celebration.
