Johnson County Commission Approves Grant for Technology Upgrades

The Johnson County Commission has approved a grant agreement with the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. This decision was made during a recent commission meeting where Commission Chairman Bill Novotny and County Clerk Jackie Camino discussed the proposal.

Grant Details

The grant, amounting to $10,869.56, is intended to offset existing expenses related to the county’s technological infrastructure. County Clerk Jackie Camino explained that the funds would be used to support the TARG technologies DocuPro system and other activities in the county vault. The plan aims to cover current expenses without incurring additional costs.

During the meeting, County Deputy Attorney Barry Crago reviewed the grant agreement and found no issues. The commission members had no questions or comments, indicating a smooth approval process. However, Camino noted some initial confusion regarding the use of the funds, which was clarified with input from a fellow clerk.

Next Steps

While the grant has been approved, the county awaits final acceptance of the plan by the Wyoming Office of State Lands. If the plan is not accepted, the county may have to decline the grant. The commission remains hopeful that the grant will be utilized to enhance the county’s technological capabilities effectively.
