During the recent Johnson County Commission meeting, County Clerk Jackie Camino took a moment to remind residents that the 2026 general election is only weeks away. She emphasized that voters have several convenient options to ensure their voices are heard.
Early voting now open
Early voting began earlier this month at the Johnson County Clerk’s office. Voters can drop by during regular business hours to cast their ballots in person, avoiding the crowds that often form on Election Day. The clerk’s office is located at 101 West Main Street in Johnson County, and staff are ready to assist anyone with questions about the process.
Absentee ballots available
For those who cannot make it to the office, an absentee ballot can be requested online or by phone. The application must be completed and returned to the clerk’s office by the deadline of October 31, 2026. Once received, the ballot will be mailed back to the voter with a prepaid return envelope, making the entire process straightforward and secure.
Vote on Election Day
Election Day is scheduled for November 3, 2026. Polling locations across the county will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters are encouraged to check the official Johnson County website for their designated precinct and any specific voting requirements.
Camino highlighted that the ballot includes several important local issues, such as funding for road improvements, school district bonds, and measures affecting public safety. She urged every eligible citizen to review the ballot measures ahead of time so they can make informed decisions.
“Your vote is your voice in our community,” Clerk Camino said. “Whether you choose to vote early, by mail, or on Election Day, participation strengthens our families, our neighborhoods, and our nation.”
