John Marshall High School launches state-of-the-art health and career program with college credit

Oklahoma City families have a new reason to celebrate. John Marshall Enterprise High School opened a state‑of‑the‑art learning center this fall, giving students hands‑on training that counts toward an associate’s degree or industry certification.

Hands‑on experience for future professionals

Jessica Cochran, a nursing services instructor with MetroTech, praised the facility as the best teaching environment she has ever seen. “This setup is the best teaching setup that I have ever seen as a nurse anywhere, and so they are really excited to get the hands‑on experience,” she said.

The center equips students with real‑world tools used in health care, aviation and education fields. Learners can practice clinical skills, operate flight simulators and engage in classroom‑based teaching techniques, all under the guidance of certified instructors.

College credit without leaving campus

What sets the program apart is its direct link to higher‑education institutions. Through partnerships with local community colleges, coursework completed in the center translates into transferable college credit. Students can earn up to 30 credit hours before graduating high school, positioning them to enter the workforce or continue their studies with a head start.

For families focused on building a strong foundation for their children, the program aligns with traditional values of hard work, personal responsibility and the pursuit of excellence. It also reflects the community’s commitment to providing pathways that respect both faith and family, allowing parents to see their children thrive in safe, structured environments.

Community impact and future growth

Local businesses have welcomed the initiative, noting that a pipeline of skilled graduates will benefit Oklahoma City’s growing health‑care and aviation sectors. The school plans to expand the curriculum next year to include additional certifications in information technology and advanced manufacturing, further broadening opportunities for students.

School officials emphasize that the program is open to all students, regardless of background, and that it upholds the constitutional right of every child to a quality education. By integrating practical training with academic rigor, John Marshall Enterprise High School is setting a model that other districts may soon follow.

Parents, educators and community leaders are encouraged to visit the new center during open‑house events scheduled throughout the semester. The school hopes the initiative will inspire other districts to invest in similar programs that marry faith‑based values, family stability and individual liberty with modern career preparation.
