Jimmy Kimmel Takes Two Month Break

Jimmy Kimmel, the host of the eponymous ABC program, will take a two-month break from hosting his show. During his absence, several guest hosts will fill in, including comedian Rosie O’Donnell, who is known for her criticisms of former President Donald Trump.

The guest hosts will start the week of July 6, with Tiffany Haddish, Anthony Anderson, Ike Barinholtz, Colman Domingo, and Jelly Roll also scheduled to appear. Kimmel announced his break on his show, joking about his suspension last year for comments he made about reactions to Charlie Kirk’s death.

Kimmel’s show was pulled from the air for nearly a week last year after he criticized some Republicans for their response to Kirk’s death. The show’s removal sparked viewer outrage over free speech and expression, as well as protests outside Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, and ABC headquarters in New York.
