The long-running quiz show ‘Jeopardy!’ is currently accepting applications for a new writer to join its staff. The show’s executive producer, Michael Davies, said the ideal candidate will be able to write engaging and informative clues for the show.
The Application Process
To apply, candidates must complete an online test and submit 12 written samples of potential ‘Jeopardy!’ and ‘Double Jeopardy!’ rounds, as well as three samples of ‘Final Jeopardy!’ clues. The new hire will be responsible for writing an average of eight categories each week and will be based out of the Sony Pictures Entertainment studio lot in Culver City, California.
Davies said the show is looking for someone who can write clues that are both fun and informative, and who can keep up with the show’s fast-paced production schedule. The new writer will join a team of nine writers who are responsible for creating the show’s clues, which are written as answers.
A Unique Opportunity
This is the first time the show has opened its hiring process to the public, and Davies said the response has been overwhelming. The show has received over 1,000 applications, and Davies and his team will begin sorting through them in the coming weeks.
The new writer will have the opportunity to work on a variety of categories, from history and geography to pop culture and famous people. They will also have the chance to work with the show’s host, Ken Jennings, and to be a part of a team that is dedicated to creating engaging and informative content.
