Jennings County Schools Closed Due To Storm

Jennings County, Indiana schools closed Wednesday due to storm impacts. The district announced the closure after extensive flooding on county roads. Around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, the school district made the announcement, having previously announced a two-hour delay.

A Facebook post from the district stated that “daylight has revealed extensive flooding on county roads following heavy overnight rainfall, and additional rain is expected throughout the day.” The district said a makeup day will be announced later. School just started on Aug. 5.

Jennings County was hit hard by storms Tuesday, and the rain continues. Part of the county had around 4 inches of rain by Wednesday morning. The weather was also a factor in the death of a little boy who was killed by a fallen tree on Wednesday, according to officials.
