Johnson County Park and Recreation District (JCPRD) will be showing the popular 1993 movie ‘The Sandlot’ on Saturday, July 25, at the Mid-America West Sports Complex in Shawnee.
Event Details
Gates will open at 7:30 p.m., and the movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per person for adults, or $2 per person for ages 17 and younger for advance purchases, or $5 for everyone at the gate. The event has a maximum capacity of 500, and advance tickets can be purchased at JCPRD.com.
The July 25 event will also include yard games, the complex’s playground will be open for kids, and there will be special themed concession items, along with trivia, raffle and giveaway opportunities.
Renovated Complex
The complex went through two years of major renovations, which were completed earlier this year. The family-friendly complex is now equipped with twelve state-of-the-art fully-synthetic-turf youth softball fields, LED field lighting, grab-and-go concessions, two dedicated synthetic turf warm up areas, 16 hitting tunnels, a large playground, mini whiffle ball field, digital Bluetooth scoreboards, two covered fan zone areas, a lawn games area with cornhole and open turf for kids, covered bleachers and permanent shade structures in each quad, and open grass spaces for teams to hang out in between games.
