Jayden Daniels Sends Lsu Cease And Desist Over Jersey

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Louisiana State University (LSU) over the school’s decision to allow another player to wear his old jersey number.

Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, wore the number 5 jersey during his two seasons at LSU. However, the school recently decided to allow cornerback D.J. Pickett to wear the same number, prompting Daniels’ team to take action.

A statement from Daniels’ spokesperson expressed disappointment and frustration over the school’s decision, citing Daniels’ accomplishments and his place in LSU history.

LSU’s Response

LSU coach Lane Kiffin stated that Pickett was promised the opportunity to wear the number 5 jersey when he signed with the school in December 2024. Kiffin believes that the school should honor this commitment.
