The Town of Jackson is set to install 20 electric vehicle (EV) charging ports across five locations in the town, thanks to a $5.5 million federal grant. The grant, awarded through the Department of Transportation Community Fueling and Infrastructure (DOT CFI) program, will also fund EV infrastructure throughout the region.
Project Details
The EV charging ports will be installed at the Deloney parking lot, Miller Park, the Recreation Center, an area near Phil Baux Park, and the gravel lot on the east side of the Snow King Sports & Events Center. The project is expected to cost around $628,000, with the remaining funds from the grant going towards EV infrastructure in the region.
Executive Director of Yellowstone-Teton Clean Cities (YTCC) Alicia Cox praised the project, citing the importance of partnerships between organizations in the town and surrounding areas. Ten community partners were involved in the application process, including the Jackson Hole Airport, Teton Village Association, and Grand Teton Lodge Company.
Ecosystem Stewardship Administrator Tanya Anderson noted that the project has reached the federal government’s ‘phase one funding obligated’ stage, meaning the grant funding has been secured and design work is underway. Construction is expected to begin next spring, with work continuing through the end of 2027.
