Jackson hosts five upcoming election forums for local candidates

Jackson, WY – Voters in Teton County have a clear opportunity to hear directly from the people seeking office this election cycle. Five public forums, organized by the League of Women Voters of Wyoming, the Teton County Library, the Jackson Hole News&Guide, KHOL Radio and Buckrail, will be held between late September and mid‑October.

Forum schedule and locations

All events begin at 6 p.m. and run for roughly ninety minutes. They will be recorded, with video links posted on TCLib.org after each session.

  • Sept. 30 (Wednesday) – Board of County Commissioners candidates.
  • Oct. 1 (Thursday) – Non‑partisan board positions for Teton County School District, St. John’s Health and the Teton Conservation District.
  • Oct. 7 (Wednesday) – Town Council candidates.
  • Oct. 8 (Thursday) – Sheriff and Coroner candidates for Teton County.
  • Oct. 14 (Wednesday) – House Representative for District 23 and County Assessor candidates, plus a discussion of the Wyoming People’s Initiative to Limit Property Tax.

Why the forums matter

These gatherings give residents a chance to ask questions in a moderated setting, helping families make informed choices at the ballot box on Nov. 3. By hearing directly from the candidates, voters can assess each contender’s stance on issues that affect daily life – from school funding and public safety to property tax policy.

How to participate

Anyone can attend the live sessions, and the format encourages audience participation. If you cannot be present in person, the recorded videos will be available online, ensuring that all community members have access to the information they need to vote responsibly.

Community support

The partnership between civic organizations, local media and the public library underscores the community’s commitment to transparent, faith‑grounded civic engagement. By providing a neutral platform, the League of Women Voters helps uphold the constitutional right of free speech and informed voting, values that align with the traditions of strong families and responsible citizenship.

Mark your calendars, bring your questions, and join your neighbors in strengthening Teton County’s democratic process.
