Auburn, Alabama, will be the site of Vulcaflex S.p.A’s first U.S. facility, creating 130 jobs with a nearly $70 million investment. The Italian company produces synthetic leathers for the auto industry.

Gov. Kay Ivey announced the investment, stating that Alabama is pleased to welcome Vulcaflex to its new North American home in Auburn. Vulcaflex CEO Roberto Bozzi expressed excitement about establishing a complete production of synthetic leather materials for the automotive industry in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
The company worked with the Alabama Department of Commerce’s European Office to select Auburn Technology Park West for its facility. The site is being prepared for construction. Auburn Mayor Ron Anders praised the collaboration between the state, city, and other parties that led to Vulcaflex choosing Auburn.
