The Des Moines metro has a brand-new destination for family fun: Iowa’s first Slick City Action Park has opened in Clive, and the story behind it is as heartwarming as the attraction itself. The venture was brought to the Hawkeye State by a pair of Altoona neighbors who saw an opportunity to give local families something truly unique.
Slick City Action Parks are known for their high-energy, slide-based attractions that draw kids and adults alike. The Clive location marks the first time Iowans can experience the concept without leaving the state — a milestone for the metro’s growing entertainment scene.
The fact that the park was championed by neighbors from Altoona speaks to the entrepreneurial spirit alive in the Des Moines community. Rather than waiting for a national chain to arrive, these local partners took the initiative to bring the experience home, creating a new gathering place for families across the region.
The opening adds to what has been a busy and exciting summer for the Des Moines metro, which has also seen a wave of new restaurant openings and a packed calendar of live entertainment. Slick City’s arrival gives families yet another reason to celebrate the season close to home.
Whether you’re looking for a weekend outing with the kids or a fresh way to beat the summer heat, Iowa’s first Slick City Action Park in Clive is ready to welcome guests. Keep an eye on the park’s schedule for hours, ticket information, and special events as the summer rolls on.
