Iowa National Guard Soldiers Return Home

The final group of Iowa National Guard soldiers has returned home from their deployment in the Middle East. The five troops were part of Detachment 6, 2nd Battalion, 641st Aviation Regiment (Operational Support Airlift Command). They will be the last soldiers to return from the most recent deployment in the region.

According to Maj. Gen. Stephen Osborn, the Adjutant General of Iowa, the return of these soldiers marks the conclusion of a significant chapter of service for the Iowa National Guard in the Middle East. Throughout this deployment, our soldiers demonstrated tremendous adaptability and professionalism while operating in an increasingly complex and evolving region.

As mission requirements shifted and conditions changed, they continued to answer every challenge with dedication and expertise. Their service represents the strength, resilience, and readiness of the Iowa National Guard, and we are proud to welcome them home.
