An Indianola man has been indicted in connection with a South Dakota ATV crash that killed a 9-year-old Waterloo girl. The crash occurred on the Fourth of July. Prosecutors say Zachary Berger was driving the ATV when it crashed. He now faces charges including vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter, and driving under the influence.
The family of 9-year-old Madie Berger confirmed she was killed in the crash. A 16-year-old boy from Des Moines was also hurt. Zachary Berger is being held on a $50,000 cash bond and is set to appear in court on July 28.
