The Iowa Girls’ State Soccer Tournament is underway in Ames, with 24 teams competing for the top spot. The tournament, which kicked off on Monday at Iowa State’s Lied Recreational Fields, features teams from across the state.

Top-seeded teams like Norwalk are making a strong showing, with Norwalk defeating Lewis Central 6-0 in the quarterfinals. Olivia Welch and Addie Wood both scored hat tricks for Norwalk, which will face North Scott in the semifinals on Thursday.

Other top seeds, including Dallas Center-Grimes and North Polk, also advanced to the next round. Dallas Center-Grimes defeated Bishop Heelan 3-0, while North Polk hung on to defeat Waverly 2-1.

The tournament will wrap up on Saturday with the 3A, 2A, and 1A finals.
