Cyclospora cases in Iowa have nearly doubled compared to this time last year. State health officials say 112 cases have been confirmed so far this year, compared with 57 at this point in 2025. About half of the completed case investigations involve international travel.
None of Iowa’s cases are linked to the multi-state outbreak. Two people have had to be hospitalized. All but two of the cases were confirmed after May.
