Iowa attorneys, lawmakers, and community leaders came together to address the attorney shortage in rural parts of the state. They gathered at Prairie Meadows to discuss how to attract and retain attorneys in the communities.
Rural Attorney Shortage
Nearly half of Iowa’s 99 counties have 10 or fewer attorneys available to serve residents’ legal needs. That includes 17 counties with fewer than five, according to the Iowa State Bar Association.
