Initial results for the 41st Legislative District state representative Position No. 1 race have been released, with Janice Zahn (D) and Elle Nguyen (R) leading the way. Zahn, the current seatholder, amassed 71.62% of the votes, while Nguyen notched 27.26% and Alex Tsimerman (Standup-America Party) had 0.96% at press time.
The top two vote-getters in the primary will advance to the Nov. 3 general election. The 41st Legislative District covers the entirety of Mercer Island and Newcastle, with portions of Bellevue, Renton, Issaquah, and Sammamish.
Other Local Races
In the State Representative No. 2 position, current seatholder My-Linh Thai (D) had 66.39% of the votes, while Michael Rosen (Independent) had 33.19%. Additionally, police chief Michelle Bennett (R) participated in the primary for the Legislative District No. 5, State Representative Position No. 1 position, with initial results showing Zach Hall (D) leading with 45.21% of the votes.
