Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Don Tracy is calling out his Democratic opponent, Juliana Stratton, for her liberal policies and lack of commitment to debate. Tracy stated that Stratton’s platform is based on open borders, open jails, and open checkbooks, which he believes are too extreme for Illinois.
Tracy’s Concerns
Tracy pointed to the recent weekend violence in Chicago as an example of Stratton’s policies favoring career criminals over victims. He also criticized Stratton and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker for increasing taxes and fees every year for the past seven years, while also increasing the annual state budget by more than 50%.
Stratton’s campaign responded by stating that she welcomes the opportunity to debate Tracy, but did not directly address his criticism of increased taxes under the Pritzker administration. Instead, they tied Tracy to President Donald Trump, stating that Tracy continues to march in lockstep with Trump’s dangerous, extreme, and increasingly unpopular agenda.
