Idaho school districts have been busy hiring new superintendents. Kevin Beard, a former state employee and teacher, is the new superintendent of the Kamiah School District. Beard, who grew up in Emmett, formerly taught at Caldwell High School. The Kamiah board wants Beard to help expand career-technical offerings and the district’s Overture online learning program.

Vincent Martinez became the superintendent of the newly deconsolidated Clearwater Valley School District at a June board meeting. Martinez had been serving as interim superintendent of the district and principal of Clearwater Valley High. Other districts, including Soda Springs and Grangeville, have also hired new superintendents.

New Superintendents Bring Experience and Leadership

Patrick Manning, who was superintendent of Nenana City School District in Alaska, will become the superintendent of the South Lemhi district. Manning will succeed former Superintendent Shane Johnston. Victoria Carson, a Plummer-Worley alumnus and current principal at St. Maries Middle School, was trustees’ single finalist in their search for a new superintendent.

These new hires bring a wealth of experience and leadership to their respective districts. As the school year begins, these superintendents will play a crucial role in shaping the education and futures of Idaho’s students.
