The Idaho School Boards Association (ISBA) has been serving school boards across the state since 1942, providing services and support to help them make informed decisions. With a staff of 10, ISBA offers a range of services, including legal counsel, lobbying, and superintendent searches.
Services and Support
ISBA member boards receive four free hours of legal counsel per year, and can access additional legal services for an annual membership fee. The association also writes and distributes draft policies that member districts and charters can adopt, saving them time and money.
ISBA offers training for board members and clerks, including board workshops, statewide events, and a webinar package for new board members. The association’s lobbying positions are set by its member boards through a resolution process, and ISBA pushes for these resolutions during the legislative session.
Membership and Funding
ISBA has 112 public school districts and 56 charters as members, with four districts not participating. The association operates on an annual budget of around $2 million, funded by membership dues, training fees, and business partnerships.
