Nearly 450 volunteers participated in the 44th annual Paint The Town event in Idaho’s Treasure Valley, painting and improving 26 homes for seniors, veterans, and neighbors living with disabilities.
A Legacy of Compassion
This event started 44 years ago when a group of neighbors in Boise’s Vista neighborhood decided to help those in need. Since then, over 3,500 homes have been painted and more than 92,000 volunteers have participated.
One homeowner, Terri Soule, had volunteers show up to paint her house on her birthday. Another resident, 74-year-old Kathi Searle, finally got the help she needed after years of knowing about the program but being unable to afford it herself.
Getting Involved
The 41st annual Rake Up Boise is coming up on November 14th, giving residents another chance to help their neighbors and make a difference.
