Iconic Movie Props Up for Auction

A light saber from the movie Star Wars, along with other iconic movie props, will be up for auction from July 13-17. The auction, presented by Heritage Auctions, will feature items from various movies, music, and other corners of pop culture.

Notable Items

Some of the notable items up for auction include a light saber used by Mark Hamill in the 1980 movie The Empire Strikes Back, a Wicked Witch of the West hat worn by Margaret Hamilton in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz, and a pair of boxing boots worn by Sylvester Stallone in the 1982 movie Rocky III.

The auction will also feature a pair of rugs from the 1998 movie The Big Lebowski, including the rug that belonged to Jeff Bridges’ character, The Dude. Additionally, a handwritten lyrics sheet by John Lennon for the song If I Fell will be up for auction, with bidding starting at $500,000.

The light saber, which includes a severed hand effects rig, is expected to sell for seven figures, with bidding starting at $1 million. The Wicked Witch of the West hat and the boxing boots will start at $100,000 each, while the rugs from The Big Lebowski will start at $15,000 each.
