The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced the deportation of several non-citizens with prior criminal convictions and arrests. According to agency officials, the individuals removed from the country had histories involving serious offenses, including violent crimes, drug smuggling, and property offenses.

Details of Deported Individuals

The department provided details on five specific individuals involved in the removals: Moises Gutierez, a Mexican national identified as a Paisas gang member; Jorge Barrientos-Amaya, a citizen of Costa Rica convicted of cocaine smuggling and marijuana possession; Omar Montes-Hernandez, a Mexican national with convictions for burglary, larceny, and illegal re-entry; Pedro Gomez-Diaz, a citizen of Mexico whose record includes convictions for aggravated assault with a firearm, robbery, and kidnapping; and Jose De Jesus Zumba Pesantez, a national of Ecuador convicted of assault.

Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis stated, “Just yesterday, ICE deported criminal illegal immigrants that include pedophiles, kidnappers, burglars, and gang members. Every single day, we remove criminals from American communities. It’s no wonder crime rates have reached record lows, including the murder rate projected to fall to a 126-year low!”

The operations are part of ongoing daily enforcement efforts by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement targeting individuals with criminal histories across the country.
