An IAN Alert has been issued in Kentucky for a missing 15-year-old boy. According to a post from Kentucky State Police, 15-year-old Aiden Hill was last seen in Breckenridge County, Kentucky, on Thursday at approximately 10 p.m. He is described as being 5 feet 3 inches, weighing 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing black or gray shorts and blue Crocs.
IAN Alerts are designed to help save the lives of children with autism and are now in effect in Kentucky. The alert is named for Ian Sousis, a 9-year-old boy who had autism and drowned in the Ohio River on June 4, 2022. For unknown reasons, children with autism are often drawn to water, and drowning is the leading cause of death in children with autism.
Background on IAN Alerts
The IAN Alert system was signed into law by Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear to help prevent tragedies like the one that occurred on the Ohio River. The system will use the same system as the Amber Alert and will cover gaps between other alerts.
