A two-mile portion of I-65 has reopened to traffic, three days ahead of schedule. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that the lanes and the on- and off-ramps at Crittenden Drive and the on-ramps from Eastern Parkway and University Boulevard that lead to I-65, were reopened at 8:15 p.m. on Sunday.
Construction and Restoration
The construction and restoration of I-65 between University Boulevard and the Watterson Expressway was originally scheduled to open on July 1, with the remaining portions reopening by August 1. However, crews are working to keep the project as on schedule as possible, with plans to have two lanes reopen in each direction by Aug. 1.
