Drivers who use Interstate 4 in eastern Hillsborough County should prepare for detours starting this weekend. The Florida Department of Transportation plans to close the eastbound I-4 exit ramp to County Line Road (Exit 25) every night from Sunday, July 19 through Thursday, July 23.
The closures will begin at 8 p.m. each evening and end at 6 a.m. the following morning, depending on the weather. Crews are shutting down the ramp to accommodate paving work on the exit lane.
During overnight closures, drivers heading east on I-4 who want to reach County Line Road will need to bypass the area via a designated detour. The state instructs motorists to exit the highway early at Exit 22, turn right onto Park Road, and then turn left onto Baker Street (U.S. 92) to travel east toward County Line Road.
Officials are reminding everyone traveling through the construction area to slow down, stay alert, and drive safely through the work zone.
