Hutto, Pflugerville Transportation Updates

Hutto and Pflugerville are undergoing significant transportation updates, with multiple projects currently in progress. One of the notable projects is the Kelly Lane Phase 3, which involves widening the road to four lanes from Moorlynch Avenue to Weiss Lane.

Kelly Lane Phase 3 Details

The Kelly Lane Phase 3 project is expected to be completed in March 2028, with a cost of $36 million, funded by city bond funds. Additionally, the road will be reconstructed with pavement, curb, drainage, sidewalk, and streetlight improvements, with a cost of $3.2 million, funded by city bond funds and roadway impact fees.

Another project in Hutto is the extension of a road to connect to SH 45, with a cost of $6.7 million, funded by city bond funds and roadway impact fees. The city anticipates receiving 60% of the design plans by the end of June.

Helios Way and Other Projects

Helios Way is another project that will connect to SH 130 Frontage Road, with a completion date extended to August and a cost of $5.8 million, funded by Type B sales tax. Other projects include the reconstruction of CR 199, the addition of new turn lanes and signals to the intersection of FM 1660 South and Hwy. 79, and the conversion of downtown streets to one-way traffic.

The conversion of downtown streets to one-way traffic is currently underway, with Main Street already converted in April. The total project completion is expected in 2026, with a design cost of $500,000, funded by the Hutto Economic Development Corp.
