The city of Hurst is asking residents who live north of SH 183 to conserve water. The city is working on a water main repair that is taking longer than anticipated.
Water Conservation Tips
The city recommends spacing out irrigation days to water no more than two days a week, even less if it’s rained. They also suggest keeping irrigation cycles short, six to eight minutes per cycle for spray heads and 12 to 14 minutes for rotors, to minimize runoff and water waste.
The city advises residents to avoid using irrigation or sprinkler systems between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and to use the “cycle and soak” method, which involves splitting up a long irrigation cycle into two shorter ones and allowing time in between for the water to soak in.
