Huntsville is welcoming not one but two new community facilities this week, giving residents expanded access to both recreation and healthcare.
Mayor Battle joined the City of Huntsville to officially open a new recreation center in John Hunt Park, one of the city’s most beloved green spaces. The addition brings fresh amenities to a park that already serves as a hub for outdoor activity and community gatherings across the Rocket City.
In a separate milestone for North Huntsville, Alabama A&M University and Huntsville Hospital have partnered to open the area’s first primary care clinic in that part of the city. The collaboration between a historically Black university and a leading regional health system brings long-needed medical services directly to a neighborhood that has historically had limited access to primary care.
Together, these openings reflect a city investing in the well-being of all its residents — from green space and fitness to frontline healthcare. Huntsville residents can look forward to enjoying both facilities in the weeks and months ahead.
