Huntsville Celebrates Make Music Day with Citywide Free Performances

Huntsville, Alabama, is set to come alive with music as the city prepares for the return of Make Music Day on Sunday, June 21. This citywide celebration will transform parks, businesses, and neighborhoods into vibrant stages, welcoming performers of all ages and skill levels to share their talents with the community.

Community-Wide Celebration

The Huntsville Music Office, alongside the Huntsville Hospital Music Therapy Program, is spearheading this event as part of the global Make Music Day movement, which spans over 1,000 cities in 120 countries. The day is dedicated to celebrating music in all its forms, offering free, all-ages performances throughout the city.

This year’s event introduces a new, simplified registration system for 2026, designed to make it easier for musicians, venues, businesses, community groups, and individuals to participate. With Make Music Day falling on a Sunday, organizers are optimistic about attracting one of the largest turnouts yet.

Opportunities for Participation

Organizers are inviting musicians, businesses, artists, and neighborhoods to join in the festivities and help create a full day of sound across Huntsville. All events are free and open to the public, providing an opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy a diverse range of musical performances.

Those interested in participating as performers or hosts have until Friday, June 19, to register and be included in the official event schedule. More information and registration details are available on the Make Music Day Huntsville webpage.
