Celebrating two decades of service to Austin homeowners, the design studio formerly known as Heather Scott Home & Design has undergone a significant transformation. Longtime employees Raquel Skrobarczyk and Emily Ward are now the sole owners and have renamed the business HS Interiors, a nod to their own initials and the brand’s heritage.
Ownership transition
Founded in 2006 by husband‑and‑wife team Scott and Heather Blue Harkovich, the company began as a boutique home‑decor shop in Northwest Austin’s The Arboretum. Over the years it expanded into full‑service interior design. Ward joined as an intern in 2012, followed by Skrobarczyk in 2014. Ten years ago the two became part owners, and this year they completed the transition to full ownership. Ward now serves as Chief Operating Officer and co‑owner, while Skrobarczyk is Principal Designer and co‑owner.
New branding
The new name, HS Interiors, combines Skrobarczyk’s last‑name initial and Ward’s maiden‑name initial. “Our approach remains classic, chic and serene, and the client experience still comes first,” Skrobarczyk said, emphasizing continuity with the founders’ original vision.
New home base
In addition to the ownership and branding changes, HS Interiors is relocating from its Rosedale location to a historic 1937 house on Baylor Street in the Clarksville neighborhood. The property is currently being renovated and is slated to open its doors in December.
Looking ahead
Ward expressed excitement about the milestone, noting, “Twenty years is a milestone worth celebrating, and we’re excited to mark it with a new name and a new home.” The firm plans to continue offering classic interior‑design services while leveraging the fresh space to showcase its work for Austin families and businesses.
