The Indian Cultural Association of Howard County (ICA) announced that the 8th Annual Festival of India will take place Sept. 19‑20 at the Howard County Fairgrounds. Admission and parking are free, making it an accessible celebration for families across the county.
Celebrating 250 Years of America and 80 Years of Indian Independence
The festival’s theme, “250 Years, Countless Stories, One America!,” marks the United States’ 250th anniversary while also highlighting the 80th anniversary of India’s independence. Organizers say the event will showcase the many ways Indian Americans have contributed to Maryland and the nation in fields such as education, medicine, technology, business, science, the arts, public service and community leadership.
Program Highlights
Visitors can expect live Indian music, traditional dance performances, arts and crafts demonstrations, and authentic Indian cuisine. Family‑friendly activities include cultural workshops, games and opportunities to meet community organizations and local vendors.
