The House of Marigold, a homegrown Louisville brand that began as Miracle Catering Company in 2019, celebrated the grand opening of its second restaurant this week in the Norton Commons community. Owner Adrienne Cole described the new space as a “neighborhood house” where families can linger over a glass of wine and a plate of locally inspired salmon.
From catering trucks to brick‑and‑mortar
Cole’s entrepreneurial journey started with mobile bars in 2021 before the company opened its first brick‑and‑mortar location in Middletown in 2023. The Norton Commons venue builds on that foundation, adding expanded hours and a dinner menu that highlights familiar favorites with a Kentucky twist. “We are offering some wonderful, beautiful, Kentucky‑inspired dinner options,” Cole said.
A place for families and community
Designed with comfort and togetherness in mind, the restaurant encourages patrons to “come and spend a little bit more time, have a glass of wine, have a lovely piece of salmon, hang out, bring your family.” The ambience mirrors the original Middletown spot while providing more seating and a relaxed atmosphere that fits the suburban setting.
Growth continues with a third location
Even as the Norton Commons site opens its doors, the brand is already preparing a third restaurant in the Nulu neighborhood. The upcoming multilevel venue will accommodate roughly 300 guests—three times the capacity of the original Middletown location—and is slated to open by mid‑November.
Commitment to welcoming spaces
Despite rapid expansion, Cole emphasized that the core mission remains unchanged: creating a welcoming environment that feels like “everybody’s house, everyone’s home.” She reflected on the emotional milestone, saying, “I can’t believe it all the time I walk into these spaces. The first time I walked into this space I just cried because it happened.”
Local impact
The new restaurant adds jobs, supports local suppliers, and offers a family‑oriented dining option in a growing part of Louisville. By emphasizing Kentucky‑inspired cuisine and a comfortable setting, House of Marigold aligns with the community’s desire for quality, locally rooted experiences.
Residents can expect the Norton Commons location to be open for dinner evenings and weekend brunches, with plans to host community events and private gatherings. The upcoming Nulu venue promises to further cement the brand’s role as a staple of Louisville’s dining scene.
