Trooper Chris Gadd gave his life in service to the citizens of Washington State on March 2, 2024. Before joining the Washington State Patrol, he served as an EMT, where he saw firsthand the life-saving importance of blood donation.

Memorial Blood Drives

Now in its third year, the Washington State Patrol and Bloodworks Northwest are proud to honor Trooper Gadd’s legacy through Memorial Blood Drives at six locations statewide, including Washington State Patrol Headquarters in Bellevue, Marysville, Bremerton, Tacoma, Vancouver, and Olympia. Bloodworks Northwest relies on approximately 1,000 blood donors every day to provide life-saving blood to local hospitals and patients across the Pacific Northwest.

By donating in Trooper Gadd’s honor, you are helping ensure blood is available for those who need it most, while carrying forward his legacy of service and compassion. The Vancouver Event will take place at the WSDOT Southwest Region, 11,018 Northeast 51st Circle, Vancouver, on Friday, September 4th, from 9am-3pm.
