Drivers across Hillsborough County should prepare for a busy week of construction delays as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 launches an extensive series of road and lane closures from June 21 through June 27, 2026.
Major Highways Impacted
Interstate commuters will see significant disruptions, particularly along I-275. Nightly closures on the Howard Frankland Bridge between Hillsborough and Pinellas counties run from Sunday, June 20 through Saturday, June 27, lasting from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Other major area highways are also heavily impacted. Overnight travelers on I-75 will encounter lane closures from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Fowler Avenue every night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning Sunday, June 21 and stretching well past the week into Friday, July 17.
Local Roads and Bridges
Local roads round out the heavy maintenance schedule. Gray Street at Reo Street will have daytime closures and flagging operations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
US 301 is experiencing work at multiple points. Drivers can expect nightly closures from the Manatee County line to Sun City Center Boulevard from Sunday through Saturday between 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
