Jennie Steward, a Kerrville woman, is mourning the loss of her husband, John Mark Steward, who was swept away by floodwaters in the Hill Country. The couple had celebrated their third wedding anniversary just a day before the tragedy.
Faith and Loss
Steward shared that her relationship with her husband was guided by faith. She believes the Lord brought them together and that their bond was strong. Despite the devastating loss, Steward finds comfort in her husband’s faith and the memories they shared.
The floodwaters destroyed the home the couple shared, leaving nothing behind. A neighbor, Mike, attempted to rescue John Mark but was unable to reach him in time. John Mark’s body was later found in Center Point, about 20 miles away.
Steward plans to return to Kerrville, trusting in her faith to guide her through this difficult time. She remembers her husband’s beautiful faith and how it inspired those around him.
