CASPER, WY — The High Plains Renaissance Faire is bringing a night of enchantment to Casper on Friday, Oct. 30. From 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., the Izaak Walton Club House will host the Midnight Court Masquerade Ball, an adult‑only celebration of music, art and theatrical performance.
Event details and ticket information
Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and tickets are priced at $120 plus a $3 service fee. Each ticket includes a mask, though guests are welcome to bring their own creations. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older, and all proceeds will support the High Plains Renaissance Faire’s ongoing programming, including its actors, musicians, artisans and tradespeople.
Live performances and artistic offerings
The evening will showcase four costumed actors who will interpret mythic figures from diverse cultural traditions: Baron Samedi, a spirit of the dead in Haitian Vodou; Meng Po, the Chinese goddess of oblivion; Anubis, the Egyptian god of funerary rites; and Saint Peter, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. Their performances will be interspersed with live art auctions, giving local creators a platform to sell original works.
Dancing, food and drink
Guests can enjoy dancing to period‑appropriate music, sip themed cocktails and craft beers, and sample hors d’oeuvres prepared for the occasion. Photo portrait stations will allow participants to capture their masked looks, adding a personal souvenir to the night’s memories.
Community impact
Co‑owner Cindy Wright says the masquerade ball is designed to provide “elegant, magical fun for adults” while reinforcing the Faire’s mission to preserve and celebrate historic arts and crafts. “We hope that attendees leave the event having felt like they stepped into another world,” Wright explained.
How to participate
Artists interested in donating works for the live auction can contact Wright at [email protected]. The Faire encourages local talent to showcase their creations, further strengthening Casper’s cultural economy.
Why it matters to Casper
The Midnight Court Masquerade Ball adds a unique cultural offering to Casper’s fall calendar, complementing other seasonal activities and supporting local artisans. By directing ticket revenue back into the Faire’s programming, the event helps sustain a venue that draws visitors from across Wyoming and neighboring states, boosting hospitality businesses and reinforcing community pride.
