A major heat wave is building for the first week of July, with both Kentucky and Indiana expected to see much higher temperatures than normal. The forecast shows several days topping out in the mid-90s, likely feeling 100+ degrees.
Temperature Records
The Fourth of July is looking to be around 95 degrees at this point. Our normal high temperature for the end of June is 88 degrees, and the first of July brings a normal high of 89 degrees. July also brings our record high hot temperatures in Kentucky, with the hottest Louisville temperature in July being 107 degrees.
Kentucky’s record high temperature was 114 degrees, set back on July 28 in 1930 in Green County. Residents are advised to stay cool and hydrated during the heat wave.
