Deputies in Harnett County are searching for a man they consider armed and dangerous after he kidnapped a 12-year-old girl from a home in Lillington.
According to Harnett County Sheriff Wayne Coats, authorities found the girl walking on the side of U.S. Highway 421. They also found the suspect’s car in the Erwin area, but there was no sign of him.
Daniel Francis Grear, 38, is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 240 pounds, with long brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, shorts, and Adidas shoes with socks.
Coats warned that Grear is considered armed and dangerous, and asked anyone who sees him not to approach him. Instead, they should call 911 immediately and provide their location and direction of travel.
